A Benefit for Cancer Genetics Research

On June 17, 2026, Hamptons Family Media proudly partnered with Penn Medicine’s Abramson Cancer Center and Living LFS to host The Power of Knowing: How Our Family History Is Shaping the Future of Cancer Care at Calissa in Water Mill.

The evening brought together members of the Hamptons community for an inspiring night of philanthropy, education, and connection in support of cancer genetics research. Guests enjoyed cocktails, curated hors d’oeuvres, live entertainment from The Sounds of the Gipsy Kings, and a silent auction before hearing from Dr. Kara Maxwell of Penn Medicine and representatives from Living LFS about the transformative impact of genetic testing, inherited cancer research, and early detection.

At the heart of the evening was a simple but powerful message: knowledge saves lives. Advances in genetic testing, surveillance, and research are helping families identify hereditary cancer risks earlier and make informed decisions that can change—and even save—lives. While the event raised awareness and funds for families affected by Li-Fraumeni syndrome (LFS), the discussion underscored a broader truth: discoveries made through cancer genetics research have the potential to improve prevention, screening, and treatment for people everywhere.

Hamptons Family Media was honored to serve as a sponsor and host of the event, bringing together patients, families, physicians, researchers, advocates, and supporters who share a commitment to advancing cancer research and awareness. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who purchased tickets, donated, sponsored, shared our mission, and stood beside us. Your generosity helps support groundbreaking research and greater awareness of hereditary cancer syndromes.

Special thanks to our event sponsors: Dearly Beeloved, Next League, Gotham FC, Fogarty Finger, ColorPop Workshop, and Hamptons Reiki. We would also like to thank Calissa for hosting us, The Sounds of the Gipsy Kings for an unforgettable performance, and Dearly Beeloved for providing the custom step-and-repeat and photo booth experience.

The event was made possible through the efforts of our Host Committee: Cristina C. Morais, Lauren Bogner, Christopher Vasoli, Alexandra Cuber, and Peter Anderson.

The evening served as a powerful reminder that when communities come together in support of research, education, and advocacy, meaningful progress follows.
